Today’s podcast is my Minute of Wine #3 and is about Landskroon Cinsaut 2016 from the family owned and managed Paarl Appellation Wine Estate. Made from the Cinsaut grape, formerly known as Hermitage and a parent, with Pinot Noir of the South African grape created in the 1920s by Professor Abraham Perold, who died the year the first Pinotage went into a barrel.
Landskroon Wine Estate is situated on the southern slopes of Paarl Mountain, with its massive granite rocks on top. From the Estate you can look south and see Table Mountain on the misty horizon. The beautiful Simonsberg is slightly to the estate. Current Cellarmaster is the fifth generation Paul, who runs the estate with his brother and cousins.
