Mulderbosch 1000 Miles Sauvignon Blanc 2015
When you are drawing grapes from such distant
Selecting grapes from their best vineyard sites in Stellenbosch, Elgin and Piekenierskloof, they were brought to cellar, destemmed and crushed and then they are separately fermented in stainless steel tanks. Once fermented, the parcels were taken to neutral 500 litre French oak barrels for a maturation for 15 months on the lees.
The wine was then prepared for bottling.
Hot from the wood fired Pizza oven
In the tasting room on the farm, Mulderbosch offers a selection of thin-based wood-fired pizzas, with a variety of delicious fresh toppings, from an outdoor pizza oven. Pizza is baked between 12h00 to 16h00. You can also purchase charcuterie and cheese boards with fresh bread and Mulderbosch olive oil.
It looks like
Packed under cork in a Burgundy shaped bottle, the label is the classic Mulderbosch ‘cigar label’. In the glass a gem bright pale golden straw.
It smells like
The nose has all the classical Sauvignon whiffs. Fynbos herbs and green saladings from early harvesting sit side by side with grapefruit and blackcurrants.
It tastes like
Brilliant crisp acidity from entry through to the long aftertaste. Wet river stone minerals and fat ripe greengage plums, crisp star fruit and kiwi and grapefruit all form part of the richness and rounded palate,
