Peter Finlayson was a true pioneer in the Hemel en Aarde Valley Wine Appellation, on the outskirts of Hermanus. A perfect marine climate with the Indian Ocean to the south.
The Bouchard Finlayson vineyards are planted much like a Burgundian Vineyard, very close rows with each vine producing a smaller crop than conventionally trellised vines. The soils are a heavy shale clay, ideal for vineyards.
