Nadia Graves is a resident of Vence in Southern France. She has South African connections, so quite often a dish of Sosaties, or a plate of rusks will appear on her website. Well worth a visit by the way…
As a Summer lunch dish, this is exactly the sort of food you want to eat on a patio, shaded by vine leaves or a large umbrella. And the perfect partner is a glass of the De Grendel Rosé 2020.

I can’t write enough about this wine. It really is a gem and a perfect Summer wine, though I do love a good Rosé in Winter. So good as a mid-morning refresher or a aperitif before a meal.
Charles Hopkins, the Estate’s Founding Wine Maker, has made this wine in exactly the same way as he would a Sauvignon Blanc, using half each Pinotage and Cabernet Sauvignon, purpose grown in Agter-Paarl.
From a Burgundy shaped clear glass, closed with a white screw cap. The label is classical De Grendel. In the glass, a beautiful strawberry spun sugar in colour, brightshining. The aromas are of spun sugar, fraises des bois, with a gentle undertow of granadilla and litchi. On entry there is a lovely line of raspberry acidity which goes into the mid palate with its generous fruit and into the long and gently waning aftertaste. A glass for drinking now.
