Bellevue Wine Estate is situated in the Bottelary Hills in the Stellenbosch Wine Appellation. The Estate is famed for its fine wines, and also for the production of the first Pinotage to win an award at a wine competition in 1961 for their 1959 vintage. This wine was sold and appeared in the market place under the Lanzerac label, a revered wine. The Estate also makes a fine raft gin called Kukumakranka using an indigenous plant for flavouring.
Grapes for the Bellevue Estate Eselgraf Single Vineyard Chenin Blanc 2020 come from a single vineyard now 45 years old, called Eselgraf. Donkey Grave where retired donkeys lived in a paddock after a lifetime of work in the vineyards.
