Zandvliet Wine Estate is in Ashton in the beautiful Robertson Wine Appellation, the home of fine wines, stud horses and beautiful roses. Much of the vineyard plantings are on calcareous slopes made up of weather Jurassic giant ant heaps. In the early days plantings were more on the alluvial riverine soils on the base of the valley.
In recent times, the Van Loveren Retief Cousins have taken over the making and marketing of the wines of Zandvliet. The Estate was also one of the early bottlers of Shiraz.
This Rosé is made from grapes which were purpose grown. Of the many ways Rosé can be made, this is the most serious. Get your grapes right in the vineyards, and with good shepherding through the winery by a highly competent winemaker, you have a winner on your hands.
