Rietvallei Wine Estate is situated in the beautiful Robertson Wine Appellation. Known for its calcareous soils, Robertson is excellent wine country and also known for it race horse studs. It is a region known equally for its white, red and Cap Classique wines.

Rietvallei is one of the country’s oldest family owned and managed Wine Estates and one of the first wine farms to be established in the Robertson Wine Valley. Through 6 generations storytelling has been an art in the Burger family, a family which treasures its heritage, the hard times and the good. History, wisdom and the hard work of previous Burger generations to innovate and cultivate new and exciting approaches to wine-making.
Chardonnay Grapes and Ladybird
The grapes for the Rietvallei Heritage Collection JMB Chardonnay 2022 come from a vineyard planted in 2004 on South East facing slopes. Tended with extra special care, the vineyard will give up sufficient quality grapes as no more than 8 tons per hectare are hand harvested. Once destemmed and crushed, the free run juice was cool settled and racked to 300 litre French Oak Barrels for fermentation. No malolactic fermentation takes place. After fermentation, the barrels are carefully selected for blending and prepared for bottling
