There are a few prime wine ‘spots’ in the Stellenbosch Wine Appellation, some on the South West facing slopes of the Simonsberg, some in the Bottelary Hills and some on Polkadraai which have unique soils, unique aspects, and altitudes. The lower slopes of the Helderberg, is where Groenvlei Farm, the home of Peter Falke Wines, is situated. Perfectly situated to make use of the cooling afternoon breezes off False Bay. The Summer heat in the vineyards is ameliorated and the grapes need to hang longer on the vine to ripen, resulting in richer colour and flavour.
Werner Schrenk, the GM, Viticulturist and Wine Maker, which he does in consultation with Cape Wine Master Louis Nel, makes the fabulous wines from this Estate. Whites, Blanc de Noir, MCC and a fine Noble Late Harvest.
