Oldenburg Vineyards is situated in a cool part of the Stellenbosch Wine Appellation. The Banghoek Valley is significantly cooler than the vineyards on the west facing Simonsberg. Perfect for growing Noble Wine Grape Varieties. Surrounded by granite Alpine mountains, there is also a little ferricrete hillock in the middle of Estate which suits some red wine varieties perfectly.
Rhodium is a precious metal used in the manufacture of designer jewelry. 80% of the world’s Rhodium is mined in South Africa.
French Oak Barrels in the Oldenburg Cellar
After early stages of winemaking, the wine matures in all new 300 litre French Oak Barrels for 20 months before being prepared for bottling. The blend is made up of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc.
