My Wine of the Day, Durbanville Hills Collector’s Reserve The Cape Mist Sauvignon Blanc 2019…

The Cape Mist Sauvignon Blanc 2019

The Durbanville Wine Appellation is one of the smallest in the country. Durbanville Hills Winery is situated in a small valley which runs from east to west and opens out on to Table Bay. Totally open to the effects of the cool Benguela Current which runs up our West Coast from the cold Antarctic Waters. This is ideal Sauvignon Blanc Country, cool with Summer heat in the vineyards ameliorated by the cooling breezes off the ocean.

Martin Moore is the Founding Cellarmaster of the winery, having completed 24 harvests there

Kobus Gerber is the White Wine Specialist at the winery.

Of the earliest bottlings at the winery was what is now colloquially known as The Hills Sauvignon, bottled now and sold as Durbanville Hills Sauvignon Blanc.

The Durbanville Hills Collector’s Reserve The Cape Mist Sauvignon Blanc 2019 has a coloured lino cut label by Artist Theo Vorster, one of the foremost practitioners of this style of art in the country.
