Landskroon Wine Estate takes top honours at the 2023 Cabernet Franc Challenge…

Landskroon Wine Estate won the Best Value Wine award
and a Gold medal at the 2023 Cabernet Franc Challenge

It’s a good day for a glass of wine because Landskroon Wine Estate is celebrating another win. Cellarmaster Paul de Villiers V and his Cellar Team as the Estate shone at the recent 2023 Cabernet Franc Challenge. The Landskroon Paul Hugo Red 2021 won the Best Value Wine award, and our Landskroon Cabernet Franc Merlot 2021 took home a Gold medal.

Landskroon has been owned and managed  by the De Villiers Family for 5 generations. It is situated on the south west facing slopes of Paarl Mountain.

The Landskroon Paul Hugo Red 2021 is a blend of the noble varieties Cabernet Franc, Shiraz and Merlot. It has a complex concentration of fruit and flavour. Really one of my favourite modern reds, an easy quaffer for happy times with food, especially that off the braai, as its accompaniment.

Landskroon Cabernet Franc Merlot 2021 is a blend of 56% Cabernet Franc, 29% Merlot, and 15% Shiraz. It is a medium bodied wine with plum and red berry flavours. The wine has well integrated and soft tannins. Hints of spice. And a good partner to winter food like a good Tomato Bredie.

The Landskroon Winemaking Team with Awards

A huge congratulations to The Landskroon Winemaking team on their dedication and winemaking prowess, a 5 generation history.
