Stellenbosch 1679, Bush Vine Chenin Blanc 2020
Koelenhof Winery is situated at the most Eastern region of the Stellenbosch Wine Appellation on the R304. Founded in 1941 as a co-operative winery, Koelenhof is now renowned for its premium multi award wines.
Old Bush Vines
The grapes come from 40 year old Chenin Blanc Vines in a single vineyard, grafted on Richter 99, a phylloxera resistant root stock. Planted in 1982 by Francois du Bois, the vineyard soils are mainly granitic in origin.
Koelenhof Barrel Cellar
Once destemmed, crushed and fermented, the wine is racked into new French Oak Barrels for the secondary fermentation. It is further matured for 312 Days in the barrels before being prepared for bottling..
