Henry Kotze, one of the Cape’s most accomplished premium wine makers, recently took up as Winemaker at this beautifully situated Lynedoch Estate. Close to False Bay to benefit from its cooling breezes to ameliorate Summer heat in the vineyards. A great plus which allows for slower ripening, which ultimately shows itself in the wine in terms of colour, aroma and flavour.
Mulderbosch has lots to offer in terms of a destination. There are wood-fired pizzas: a lunch-time legend, a Food Truck: their version of a classic roadside American Diner experience and a lovely children’s play area. For sweeteners there are lemon meringue pies which are irresistible [you’ll have to book ahead for these]. Like a game of Bocce, they are ready to show you the “bowling” rules, Italian style.
This wine is beautifully labelled in the simplest most elegant way. A cigar like label running down the side of the bottle.
