Durbanville Hills Tangram White nv

Durbanville is a tiny wine appellation which ends in a valley of hills which opens out on to the West Coast with the cold Benguela Current which runs north from the deep icy Atlantic Ocean. The Benguela Current plays a major part in the microclimate in the vineyards ameliorating the summer heat I the vineyards. Mists off the ocean are a common occurrence. The Durbanville Hills Winery stands on a promontory overlooking Table Mountain, Table Bay, Robben Isaland at the Atlancitc Ocean.

This blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon in the style of Bordeaux has been made by the Winery’s White Wine Specialist, Kobus Gerber and his team. Only tight grained new French Oak Barrels were used for the two year separate maturation of the two varieties. Only then were the best barrels of each variety used to make up the blend of this wine. After the blending, the wine was prepared for bottling and then allowed to further mature in the bottle for a further year.
