Confessions Crozes-Hermitage 2019, so good with Ina Paarman’s Festive Pork Neck Roll…

Confessions Crozes-Hermitage 2019

With its vineyards on the left bank of the Northern Rhone River, one of France’s important rivers, the Crozes-Hermitage vineyards are to be found. The Appellation extends through eleven communes and produces a large amount of wine, almost exclusively from Syrah.

The Vineyards of the Northern Rhone

The soils in which the vines are planted are mainly granitic in origin with fluvio-glacial alluvium and terraces of rolled Rhone pebbles. The climate is continental, and much like our winelands has its rainfall is in Winter.

Syrah Grapes ripening on the vine

Winemaking depends on strict selection of perfectly ripe grapes and appellation. Destemmed in the cellar and fermented after a prefermentation cold maceration. Matured with oak for 10 to 12 months before being prepared for bottling.

Best paired with Ina Paarman’s Festive Pork Neck Roll
