Cheryl Bennett became a friend on the Internet after an introduction from a mutual friend who lives in France. She is a professional chef and caterer in Florida USA, and of course her food is different, and many of her dishes are real fun. Her website is Pook’s Pantry well worth a visit. Cheryl Bennett’s Curried Cauliflower Fritters are perfect for a Summer Lunch under a pergola or by the pool. All you need is a side salad and perhaps a crisp baguette.
They are deliciously spicy, and you can swing things round by using a Cape Malay Style Curry Powder and serve them with chutney, or the NOMU Coriander and Mild Chilli Indian Curry and serve it with a stunning sambal of finely chopped tomato, onion and fresh coriander. In the preparation, Ghee is a superb fat in which to cook these. Woolworths sells it in tubs. To see Cheryl’s website and the recipe – CLICK HERE. She is well worth following for her clever food ideas.
From a Burgundy shaped bottle, closed with a superior screw cap. The label is in black, simple and very elegant. In the glass, the wine is a golden straw colour. The aromas and the flavours are fresh and very inviting. There are whiffs of desiccated pineapple, orange melon and fresh sliced ripe pears. As a result of long lees contact, the palate is rich and round with a creamy richness going into the long and gently waning aftertaste. Ideal wine for serious and contemplative sipping. Tremendous food partner.
