The Raka Wine Estate is owned and managed by Piet and Elna Dreyer and their family and is situated in the Klein Rivier Wine Appellation. This is to the east of Stanford in Walker Bay. Named for Piet’s big black fishing boat, Raka, who is a character in an epic poem by well known SouthAfrican Poet, NP van Wyk Louw published in 1941.

The grapes, once hand harvested, were taken to the cellar and twice sorted for quality purposes before the winemaking elevation took place ending up in a selection of 225 litre French and American Oak Barrels. The wines were then blended and prepared for bottling.
