Vriesenhof Vineyards is situated on the foothills of the Helderberg Mountain in the Stellenbosch Wine Appellation. In a marine climate with cooling breezes coming up from False Bay ameliorating Summer heat in the vineyards.

The estate is owned and managed by Jan ‘Boland’ Coetzee, a legend in his time, as a rugby player for South Africa, a wine maker, a philanthropist, deep thinker, and more recently a recipient from Stellenbosch University of an honorary Doctorate.
I always think of Jan as the Burgundy specialist, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay being his ‘thing’. This wine and his Grenache Noir, clearly show his talent and versatility.
