Hazendal Wine Estate is on the south western edge of the Stellenbosch Wine Appellation, very close to Kuils River. The owners, a Russian family, who manage the Estate, have really brought the Estate to life in recent years with a number of offerings as a tourist destination, not least amongst them the fine food offerings of Michelle Theron, one of the Cape’s Leading Chefs.
Hazendal’s winemaker and viticulturist, Clarise Sciocatti-Langeveldt, seen here with Michelle Theron, the Estate’s Chef, is producing some fine wines in two ranges, the Christoffel Hazenwinkel Range of modern easy drinking wines and the Hazendal Estate wine.
Roussanne is known as The Russetty One as the grape skins turn a russett brown as they ripen.
