Vibrant Italian Recipes celebrating the Lemon from Gennaro Contaldo. Gennaros’ Limoni, a review by Myrna Robins…

Gennaro’s Limoni – Gennaro Contaldo

Not only is he one of the UK’s most popular chefs but one who  retains his Italian warmth and passion for his home cuisine although living in London with his family. This is his seventh cookbook with this publisher and is likely to be another best-seller.

Living life to the full

Gennaro Contkhails from the Amalfi coast where the indigenous lemon is part of daily life for the locals. Going back to his home town of Minori to shoot some of the photographs in the collection was, for him,  the best part of creating this title.

Gennaro’s Tagliatelle with Lemon

The recipes start with a selection of small plates – salad, vegetable, seafood and pizza –  offering a delectable first course choice.  Next up is a chapter of predominantly pasta-based dishes where the lemon stars in the sauces, and veggies add diverse flavours.

More pasta in the fish chapter but also different fish species appear baked, poached and crumbed. Following on a short section of meat dishes, desserts take centre stage presenting impressive lemon cakes, mousses and more. Adventurous cooks will enjoy the homemade limoncello recipe.

David Loftus, well known British Food Photographer

David Loftus’s captivating photographs –  food, portrait and scenic – lift this hardback into the irresistible category.
