Inspired by the food traditions of the early artisans of the Cape, the Spier Seasonal Tasting’s distinctive tastes and aromas of centuries-old Cape cuisine chime with wine varieties such as Chenin Blanc and Riesling.
The Spier Seasonal Tasting includes
A smoked snoek samoosa topped with pineapple and habanero chutney, paired with the citrus and mineral Ideology Sémillon.
A Cape Malay falafel topped with buffalo mint yogurt and toasted almonds, paired with the unwooded and beautifully balanced Ideology Chenin Blanc.
A roti topped with pickled fish and fresh coriander, paired with the Ideology Merlot Rosé.
A traditional spiced koesister dipped in coconut, paired with the richly complex Vintage Selection Riesling.
Available for R120 per person from 1 April until 31 May at the Spier Tasting Room.
Open from 09:00 to 17:00, Monday to Saturday and 11:00 to 17:00 on Sunday.
