Silwood School of Cookery is coming up for its 50th anniversary next year. Opening as Silwood Kitchen in 1964 by the legendary Lesley Faull, the school has blossomed and become a truly professional cookery school under the guiding hand of Principal Alicia Wilkinson, Lesley’s daughter, and granddaughter Carianne Wilkinson.
If ever you are wanting to put on a High Tea, you could do worse than employ a kitchen full of Silwood’s First Year Students to put one together for you.
I attended a tea yesterday given by some first year students for their year end exams.
I was bowled over by the professional pastries sweet and savoury which were served up with a choice of lemonade, Ceylon or Rooibos tea or coffee.
A real treat.
