I have known Marthinus Ferreira for some years now. He is certainly one of the eminent, multi-awarded, chefs of Johannesburg with his unique take on food. Described as experimental, nostalgic and globally influenced, dining at DW Eleven11-13 is always a joy. Here I have eaten fine food and been introduced to wines, that I have never previously tasted, by the general manager and wine director of this fine restaurant, Mario Monteiro.

Marthinus has worked with the world’s top chefs abroad. Over the years he has had the pleasure of being part of the growth of the South African food landscape and he is no stranger to the South African TV screen with appearances on various food shows.

Closed now, due to the COVID 19 lockdown, Marthinus and his team are looking forward to getting back to work, once this unique, uncertain and unimaginable time is over.

In order to support Marthinus in his project to keep his staff on the go during lockdown, I am offering 10 copies of my first book, Michael Olivier a Restaurateur Remembers. Published in 2005, these will bring my collection down to single figures as the book is no longer available.
