Groot Constantia Wine Estate I regard as the cradle of the South African Wine Industry. It was here that one of South Africa’s most iconic wines was created. A wine which was served at the tables of European Royalty, Writers and Statesmen, and to Napoleon in exile on the Island of St Helena.
In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the making of the first Cap Classique in the Cape, I talk about the Groot Constantia Cap Classique Brut Rosé 2017, a Pinotage led blend made up by Winemaker Boela Gerber of 63% Pinotage, 20% Pinot Noir, and 17% Chardonnay.
