Bruce Jack The Heartbreak Grape Pinot Noir 2018
Bruce Jack is one of the most travelled wine makers in the Cape. He has made wine in almost every country where wine is made. He has held a senior position in Accolade Wines, one of the largest wine companies in the world. Now, luckily for us, he is back in South Africa and draws his grapes from a number of wine appellations and conjures them up into several ranges of truly fine wines. He is a great friend of many of the UK Supermarkets where his wines, even those in cans, stand proud on the shelves.
Bruce farms in the Overberg Highlands near the country towns of Bredasdorp and Napier in the Cape South Coast Wine Appellation. He is also a graduate of English Literature of St Andrews University in Scotland which he attended before going to Adelaide in South Australia to study wine making. As a writer, Bruce is a great help to me when it comes to words.
Pinot Noir, just before harvesting
This wine is a gem and a great expression of Pinot Noir, also known as The Heartbreak Grape. Think skinned and low in tannin, Pinot Noir truly take on the character of its terroir.
