De Grendel Op die Berg Pinot Noir 2017
De Grendel, a farm which sits on the south facing slopes of the Tygerberg Hills facing Table Mountain and a mere 20 minute drive from the Cape Town’s city centre, has been owned and managed by the Graaff Family through four generations. Proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and its cold Benguela Current, plays an important part in Summer with its cooling breezes ameliorating heat in the vineyards. Founding Cellarmaster Charles Hopkins is making some fine wines there. The grapes for this wine come from a Graaff Family farm which its own little Appellation called Op die Berg in Ceres.
