Bonnievale Winery is situated in the Eastern End of the Robertson Wine Appellation, in a little Wine Ward of its own – Bonnievale.

It has been interesting for me watching this winery develop over recent years. In striving to premiumisation, the wines simply get better each vintage. And the awards rolling in prove this.
Bonnievale Limited Release Chardonnay 2021
A great expression of the vintage and a real fingerprint of Chardonnay. Surprisingly, the nearby South Atlantic Ocean has an influence as it ameliorates heat in the Summer while the grapes are ripening. This is textbook Chardonnay. Beautiful pale lemony hay in the glass. Aromas are of citrus which segue onto the rich and generous palate. Lovely acidity line running through from entry to the long and gently waning aftertaste. Great as a sipper and excellent with food. Bonnievale The River Collection Merlot 2021
Merlot is such a hugely popular wine – often ordered by the glass in restaurants and wine bars. Without damning it with faint praise – it is a really easy drinker. But an easy drinker with great character. Aromas and palate are in harmony with each other. Sappy red and black and blue berries and plums. Christmas Pudding and fruit cake aromas and tastes.
