Eggs for breakfast at Oregano

Our most favourite ‘local’, Oregano Bakery and Pantry has had a makeover which has moved it to another height in excellence. Mother and Daughter Team Sharon and Lauren van Tonder tackled it themselves and could perhaps expand their talents to Interior Design. It has a lovely warm welcoming feel to it, with all their wonderful cakes, bakes and breads. Rusks and lemon marmalade, big fat slices of Butter fudge, crisp Rosemary Carta di Musica.

Crisp frilly edges for Eggs for breakfast

I am a sucker for the Toasted Brioche Fried Egg and Bacon and while there are all sorts of other breakfasty items, I always seem to fall back on this. Lauren gets a lovely crisp frilly edge around the oleaginous yolk, with the bacon cooked to perfection. Lauren’s brioche buns are classical.

Classical Boiled Bagels

Look out for her classical bagels. New York comes to Linden with her bagels, boiled in the traditional way before baking.
