The Table Bay Hotel on the V & A Waterfront in the Cape Town is offering a Glühwein Treat in the beautiful lounge with its fabulous view over the harbour and Table Mountain. The exciting thing is that your glass of Glühwein can be spiced up to your personal taste, using spices and flavourants of your choosing.
A special table is set up in the lounge with a selection of raw ingredients. These could include cardamom, star anise, cloves, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg powder, orange and lemon, all the flavours searched for by the 17th century passersby on their way to the Spice lands in the East.
The Glühwein is served in a Mini Bunsen burner and the flavours are infused into the red wine and made a la minute (fresh at the table side).
Glühwein will be served, for the remainder of August from 19h00 – 22h00 in the Lounge Area at a cost of R55-00 per serving.
