De Toren Wines
Made by Martin Fourie in this perfectly situated wine Estate on the Polkadraai Hills. Soils are decomposed granite. Fine fruit and special care in the cellar which has a Tower [Toren] which can move the wines around and where they can be moved by gravity, rather than pumping. Excellent situation with slopes cooled by breezes off False Bay slowing down the ripening process and allowing for greater flavour in the grapes when finally harvested.

A sublime blend of red Bordeaux wine grape varieties. Very typical of a fine left bank of the Gironde River wine. The Estate is, as they say in the Guide Michelin, worth the drive. Beautiful architecture, fabulous gardens and 300 plus years old Camphor Trees, worth the visit alone. Excellent River Café on the banks of the Lourens River
