Books for Summer – Hurrah for Gin, a diary for 2020 by Katie Kirby…

Hurrah for Gin by Katie Kirby

I have many friends who make gin who would love this diary. If you are not a gin drinker, you will love this diary.

Mother of two boys, Katie Kirby started her illustrated blog , Hurrah for Gin [] after a particularly bad day. Published by Quadrille which is an imprint of Hardie Grant, it is filled with the most enchanting cartoons and I think very cleverly put together.

At the beginning there is place for you to fill in your addresses. Then a very useful section on December high days where you can fill your programme in with a section for notes as well. Each month starts with an amusing cartoon and then a week to view and a page for notes and a little calendar of the month.

There is a handy address book at the back and pages headed Birthday and Important Dates, Travel Planning, Holiday Dates, School Activities, then a section of Shopping Lists and To Do Lists where you are able to tear out half of the page – very clever.

As  an ending, there is a list of International Dialling Codes [without South Africa! It’s +27]

It is a natty size which will fit into a large handbag or sports bag.

My Gin Friends sorted for Christmas.
