Elgin Vintners have everything they require for the creation of truly delicious wines. A unique climate, a valley in a bowl, some distance from the southern ocean, yet the vineyards are much affected by the cooling breezes which result in longer hang time on the vine for the bunches, slower ripening and the resultant extra flavours and aromas given to the wine. There are 7 different soil types and many aspects facing all directions, a great choice.
This delicious Blanc de Noir is made from Merlot, which has all the attributes to produce a great wine in this style.
Marinda Kruger Claassen, the Winemaker and Business Manager of Elgin Vintners spent a lot of time walking up to the stage at the recent Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards. Bearing away medals and awards ready to add to the cupboard of awards at the Winery.
