Jeremy and Emma Borg are devoted to the African Wild Dog, or aka The Painted Wolf. Jeremy is a truly eclectic man, having run his own very successful pizza restaurant in California towards the end of last Century. He is a serious host. I had lunch with him once, we sat in the kitchen eating sublime food. I remember a poster on the wall with a photograph of every African Wild Dog live in the wild, I was horrified to see how small the poster was. Jeremy and Emma put a huge amount of effort into conservation of The Wild Dog with Jeremy riding fundraising cycling marathons all over the place.
He is fortunate to rent cellar space so that he can concentrate on finding the best grapes for his wines. The vineyards from which the grapes for Painted Wolf Roussanne 2018 come are on the south eastern side of the Paardeberg. They are grown by Willie Dreyer in decomposed granite soils.
