The Vineyard makes Dad a King for Father’s Day

The Vineyard Hotel, in the heart of leafy Newlands, is looking forward to Father’s Day this year, marking the occasion with a lunch fit for a king on Sunday 19th June.

Take Dad for a leisurely stroll around the extensive gardens, and see if you can meet one of our resident giant tortoises, before heading to their flagship restaurant, the Square.

This year’s specially designed Father’s Day menu has been created with dad’s favourites in mind, by the hotel’s Executive Chef Carl van Rooyen.

Start with a choice of Thai steamed mussels with lemongrass and saffron poached sweet potato, or the Cantonese steamed pork buns, with cucumber spaghetti and preserved ginger dressing.

The main course is a choice between the grilled rib eye steak with basil pesto and parsley crust, served with hand cut fries, or the Malay spiced Kingklip with a delicious array of perfectly prepared vegetables.

Dessert is a delicious baked sticky toffee pudding with frozen yoghurt, or dark chocolate with raspberry ripple ice cream.
