Obikwa Wines are making a huge impression in the South Africa market.
When we tasted the wines for our book The Peoples Guide, the Obikwa Shiraz particularly stood out head and shoulders above the rest.
Here’s the Pinotage – lovely dry summer time wine yet juicy sweet strawberries and prune plums, dry and refreshing at the end. So it is a great food wine too.
I was at the lunch in June where this wine was one of a handful of Rosé wines to be awarded a medal at the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show.
Look out for the Sauvignon Blanc too – nice little fruity crisp number, great glass on its own or brilliant with fish – I fried a slice off a large Kob with it, lots of lemon and parsley, just yummy.
