Wine producer participation in the Wine Menu’s Chardonnay & Pinot Noir Festival is by invitation only of organiser, Corlien Morris of Wine Menu, who will choose which wines will be available for tasting that evening.  This ensures that only the best are shown at the festival which has been sold-out since it first started in Gauteng five years ago.

De Grendel Op die Berg Pinot Noir

South African producers who will be showing their wine include Ataraxia, B Vintners, Creation, Charmonix, De Grendel, Eikendal, Ghost Corner, Glenelly, Groot Constantia, Hartenberg, Highlands Road, Jordan, Kloovenburg, La Brune, Longavi, Oak Valley, Paradyskloof, Paul Cluver, Paul Wallace, Sutherland, The Drift, Thelema and Vriesenhof.

Groot Constantia Chardonnay

Specialist fine wine importers Great Domaines, LAPD and the Reciprocal Wine Trading Company will also be showing some of their finest Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs.

Vriesenhof Pinot Noir

Says Corlien Morris: “This is a targeted wine experience that focuses on the flavours and nuances of these two famous Burgundian varieties. Generally, many high-end, award-winning Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays are not shown at other festivals because they are often too expensive and with too small a production. People who come to The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Festival are generally passionate and knowledgeable about wine and are interested in these varietal wines.”

Wines – some of which are no longer available on the general marketplace – will be available for sale to festivalgoers at a 10 percent discount on retail prices.

Paul Cluver Chardonnay

Only 300 tickets will be made available for the 2017 Chardonnay and Pinot Noir Festival so booking is essential if you do not want to miss out on this prestigious event.  They are available from Webtickets; from Wine Menu in the BluBird Shopping Centre, Illovo or – if still available – at the door on the night.
