KWV The Classic Collection Shiraz 2015
With temperatures soaring into the thirties this week, if you are not a person who has ever chilled red wine, now is the time for you to experiment. Fridge reds are just brilliant, the flavours are enhanced, the drinking is easy and I find that it is easier to pair the wines with foods normally those we think of as having to be paired with a white wine. Like chicken, and tuna – seared and served with that ‘golden butter of Provence’ aioli. It works really well with cheese too.

The lively cherry berry and plum notes in the KWV Classic Collection Shiraz 2015 work well when the wine is chilled.
Made in the traditional manner of open fermentation, punch downs and pump overs which allow for the extraction of the softest tannins, the wine spends between 8 and ten months maturing in oak. On bottling it is ready for drinking and will do well for anything up to three years after the harvest date.

It looks like
Bottle in a Burgundy shaped bottle under cork. The label is the simple and elegant KWV Classic Collection livery. In the glass, a ruby red at the core which pales out to garnet at the rim.
It smells like
Cherry, berry, plum and fynbos herbs.
It tastes like
Red and black fruit, oak spice, many layered and well flavoured mid palate and then a long gently waning aftertaste.
