My first visit to Quoin Rock was on a perfect weather day and being surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery the Western Cape has on offer, it was special one. The wines I tasted that day, The Nicobar, The Gary Player Red and others were a revelation – as was meeting the winemaker Carl van der Merwe whose wife that day was in labour with the birth of their child.  Months later I tasted and was beguiled by the Sauvignon Blanc and their sublime MCC.
