Thys Louw will surely have to build on a special room to the winery to hold all the medals he so regularly wins for his various incarnations of Sauvignon Blanc.
Then he goes and takes the ClassicFM Wine Magazine Shiraz Challenge as well.
Now he brings us this incestuous blend of the two Sauvignons – Sauvignon Blanc and its child Cabernet Sauvignon. The other parent of Cabernet Sauvignon being Cabernet Franc.
93% Sauvignon Blanc and 7% Cabernet Sauvignon
And it is just so so yummy.
Delicate flavours of the classical cool climate Sauvignon Blanc pink granadilla and lime peel, combined with cherries and red berries aromas and tastes of Cabernet Sauvignon.
Nicely balanced too – crisp and fresh and fruity with quite a nice long aftertaste
Lovely glass on its own at about 11h00 on a Sunday morning! Good with lovely summery salads, seafood and chicken or duck.
Good value too at about R60 a bottle.
