Mark and Belinda Lindhorst

Mark Lindhorst and I go way back when he was a student at Stellenbosch during my time at Lanzerac. After years as a successful accountant his attention to detail in the production of his quality wines is bearing fruit. Lindhorst Wines, is a brand new winery with a focus on a unique Shiraz dominated blend, appropriately named “Statement” and also produces limited quantities of single varietals – vide Lindhorst Pinotage and Shiraz.

The Decanter World International Wine Awards 2004, structured to highlight the importance of country of origin and terroir, turned up a gold medal for their maiden Shiraz even before the wine’s release, a sure sign that Mark and Belinda are doing things right, from the start. The Lindhorst Wines are big gentle giants, packed with colour, aroma and soft, warm, spicy fruit flavours. Confined to reds, the wines are sold by mailing list to collectors, connoisseurs, specialist cellars, restaurants and by this website, with production kept low to focus on superior quality.
